Description
Cleaning ChecklistAfter Bareboat Charter
Date Completed _________________
1. Remove all linens from the boat for laundry service and inventory. Should include:
o 4 hand towels
o 6 wash clothes
o 6 bath towels
o 7 pillow cases (three for the king bed)
o 1 set of king sheets (white)
o 2 sets of queen sheets (beige)
o 4 bath mats
o 1 small entry carpet
o 2 beige kitchen hand towels
Linens that stay on the boat:
o 3 cotton blankets – store
o 3 mattress feather beds – leave on beds
If the above items are not on the boat when it returns, please let me know ASAP.
2. Cleaning
(You’ll need the “water pressure” & “comfort” circuit breakers on to clean)
A. Heads
o Flush toilet – check operating properly
o Clean toilet (inside and out) and surrounding area
 Toilet drain - Selector lever to “overboard”
o Drain toilet bowl and squirt a little “bowl conditioner” in the basin
o Be sure each bathroom has at least one roll of toilet paper in the cabinet above the sink
o Clean all surfaces and wipe out the sink basin
o Wipe down and dry chrome faucet and handle
o Clean mirror
o Wipe down walls with cleaner
o Replace trash bag
o Remove wooden shower sump cover, clean and replace
o Check shower sump filter
o Clean floor and drain shower sump – squirt a little bowl cleaner in the shower sump drain
o Insure that lights are off and curtains drawn
B. Staterooms
o Wipe down the surfaces with damp cloth (use cleaner if necessary)
o Wipe down the floor with cleaner (be sure to get the edges and corners)
o Vacuum the master stateroom carpet around the bed
o Wipe down chrome reading lights
o Remake beds as follows:
a)Prep for Day Charter –
o Striped quilt over the “feather bed” – tucked in
o Place decorative pillows as indicated in photo
o Remove the cotton blankets and the sleeping pillows from the boat – Use the canvas laundry bag.
o Remove all extra towels and linens from the boat and store.
o Leave 10 clean beach towels in the salon

b)Prep for Bareboat Charter-
o Makes beds with clean sheets (tan forward cabins, white aft cabin - strips run front to back)
o Use the beige cotton blankets
o Use the sleeping pillows with clean pillow cases
o Set the decorative pillows as indicated in the photo
o Striped quilts should be removed from boat
Towels:
Two wash clothes per cabin
Two bath towels per cabin
Two hand towels per cabin
Leave 2 clean kitchen hand towels in the galley.
Curtains drawn – lights off
C. Salon & Passageways
o Carpets vacuumed and rolled up
o Ice machine:
 Power switch – Off
 Wipe out the inside
 Ice tray – remove, clean and replace
 Ice arm – “up” position
o Surfaces wiped down (use cleaner as necessary)
o Wash table and bar surface and shelf area behind the couch
o Clean seat cushions as necessary
o Wipe down the helm seat and the helm area
o Check cabinet under the table for trash and martini glasses & shaker
o Clean the interior of the windows
o Wipe down the floor and steps, be sure to get the edges and corners – no crumbs
o Wipe down the sliding door track and behind the track
D. Galley
o Refrigeration circuit breaker – Off
o Remove all trash and left over food items
o Open drain on the cold chest
o Wipe down the inside off the cold chest and refrigerator (leave doors open)
o Close cold chest drain once cleaned
o Thorough cleaning and drying of all utensils, plates, bowls and glasses
o Clean all surfaces
o Clean the stove and oven
o Wipe down all the food shelves
o Install new trash bag
o Wipe down the front and inside of the microwave
o Wipe down the toaster and coffee machine
o Leave new roll of paper towels behind the sink
o Rinse out the cooler in the cockpit
Curtains closed and lights out
Please turn “water pressure” & “comfort” circuit breakers “off” before leaving
Lock up the cabin
