Description

We are a travel guide company preparing material for many Latin American countries. All description of Latin American cities are written in English and need to be translated to Portuguese.

Our regular translator is suffering significant delay, so we are interesting in contracting a translator to provide assistance. By experience, we know that 6000 words per day is realistic for this type of text, so you could be doing 100.000 words (or more if you are faster) in the next 20 days. Almost no research is necessary. The source text is very fluent.

For each destination, the text needs to be copied from an o­nline form into Word, translated using Trados or Wordfast and pasted back into the form in Spanish. Translation Memory will be provided. Provided text analyses roughly as:

- 99% new words
- 0,5% fuzzy matches
- 0,5% 100% matches and repetitions

If we like your work, there is sure to be more work afterwards, since there are many more countries to come.

If you’re travelling down the main El Rama highway, you might want to stop off at El Rama, even if it's just for o­ne night. Although the port town has little in the way of sightseeing, it is worthy as a base camp for exploring the surrounding region or for some other basic activities. If you’re o­nly interested in sightseeing and you don’t need to stop for the night, don’t bother going into El Rama—just pass it by.

Buses leave Managua frequently to go to El Rama, nearly every hour, and the ride can take up to 12 hours o­n a regular bus, even though the Managua-El Rama highway has been nearly completely paved. The bus ride might be worth it, if your goal is to see as much of the countryside as possible. You can also take an airplane or a boat to the city and the surrounding villages, although those two methods may prove to be far too expensive to merit a couple of hours difference in travel time.

There are several hotels in the area that range from dirt cheap to way too expensive and if you don’t mind staying in a basic room you can save yourself some money by going to the simpler hotels.

El Rama is definitely a meat town, serving up tons of roasted chicken, steak, seafood and shrimp everyday to tourists and docked fishermen for excellent prices.
