Description

I am looking for someone to provide a Spanish to Spanish transcription of 13 interviews conducted between myself and research participants in Guatemala. The 13 interviews are WMA audio files and need to be transcribed in Word or Works. They add up to 1121 minutes or 18.68 hours in total.

Almost all of the interviews are between me and one other person, with the exception of one or two that have two respondents. The interviews range in duration from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours apiece. They are recorded on high quality audio.

Because I am a graduate student, I need this job done as quickly and as inexpensively as possible. I want you to produce an accurate and readable transcript. This means you should not transcribe verbatim but you need to be accurate. Leave out false starts, speaker hesitations, background noises, all ums and ahs and filler words such as "pues", and "vaya". Don’t paraphrase - you need to transcribe what the speaker says, not just the general idea of what was said.

Some questions for bidders -
1) How long will it take you to transcribe 1 hour of audio?
2) How long will it take you to return the completed work?
3) What's your experience?
4) What is your bid for an hourly rate (i.e. your rate for transcribing one hour of good quality single-speaker audio)?

This work is extremely important to me as it will be the basis for analyzing data for my thesis. The winning bidder will need to transcribe a short portion of an interview first to make sure that their grammar, spelling and transcription skills are excellent. It wouldn't be fair to award you an hour's transcription (potentially 4 or 5 hours work) if I wasn't sure that your work would be of acceptable quality.
