Description

The perfect job for a freelance sysadmin. Basically moving a few sites to new servers.

This will take you from 4 hours to 30 hours depending on how fast you work. Pay is $250.

Plenty of ongoing work from time to time for someone who is HONEST and SKILLED.

Cent OS / Redhat. Perl-MySql-CGI-Mason-Apache web sites and typical email/security issues.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS AD if you have a full time job. You must already be a self-employed freelancer working on your own INDEPENDENTLY, thanks.

You will log in to a shell using SSH and perform various setup duties, moving sites around, use our DNS, etc etc. on a couple different servers.

IF YOU ARE USED TO USING Plesk, Cpanel, etc, PLEASE DO ***NOT*** REPLY TO THIS AD.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS AD if you do sysadmin using PLesk, Cpanel, etc. This job is for raw, shell-based sysadmin only.

DO NOT REPLY unless you are completely expert with Apache configurations -- SSL, virtual hosting, etc etc.

DO NOT REPLY unless you are completely familiar with running servers with 10 or 20 IPs on each server.

DO NOT REPLY unless you are completely familiar with IPTables and similar security/firewall measures.

DO NOT REPLY unless you are totally familiar with every aspect of MySql (such as running multi-server MySql, moving large MySql sites, etc etc)

DO NOT REPLY unless you are totally expert at every aspect of maintaining DNS, including REVERSE dns, MX records, etc etc.

DO NOT REPLY to this ad unless you are completely famiilar with using "autohandler" type pages with Mason-apache, for instance for geolocation

DO NOT REPLY unless you are completely familiar with modern security methods, eg, eliminating crap services like FTP, etc etc etc.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY unless you know ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING about RUNNING EMAIL SERVERS ON REDHAT/CENTOS
including:

DNS aspects of email
everything there is to know about using SSL with mail servers
authentication / IMAP / POP ... the works
dovecote, etc etc etc
everything about spam prevention (assasin etc) upside down
running 'webmail' pages where needs be (eg, openwebmail, etc)

Here is what YOU MUST KNOW INSIDE OUT to do this job:

1) EVERYTHING about DNS
2) EVERYTHING about running mail servers
3) EVERYTHING about MySql
4) EVERYTHING about mason-autohandlers-geolocation etc.
5) EVERYTHING about Apache -- SSL certs, virtual, mason, directories, accounts, permissions, mime types, etc etc etc

Also:
6) You must be a full time freelancer, and have a good internet connection
7) Have good knowledge of Perl, CGI and the like.

Do not even think of replying if you use PLESK, CPANEL, etc. This is raw sysadmin, you just login and shell away!

Do not bother replying unless you are extremely HONEST and KIND.
