Description

Hi,

I need help with figuring out a bootable Software RAID 10 on a Linux machine,
OS will be Ubuntu 8.04 LTS

I have 4 1TB disks and want to set up RAID 0 on top of RAID 1

And I am not sure how to implement it,

A step by step tutorial is needed,

like:
boot a live CD
format the first, the second, the third, the fourth,
then set up raid 1 on the first and second,
then setup raid 1 on the third and fourth,
then setup raid 0 on top of the two raid 1s

then install the OS on the raid 0

but of course with strict detail

the final outcome on raid 0 must have the following partitions,
and I want them to be as well physical partitions on each system
meaning that sda should have sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4 sda5 and sda6
(probably with sda2 bootable, and all marked as "array auto" type partition?)
well, I need a little clarification on how to layer this up,

/boot
/root
/var
