Bid On This Project

Description

"Fulfillment, is a method by which you own the inventory, and have a third party ship those products on your behalf"

We want to distribute Glass pipes, targeted market is USA. We need somebody who can find a fulfillment center located in the USA. You can find a lot of companies if you search through Google but the main problem is that most of them are not willing to storage and proccess glass pipes through their systems. So the only task of this project is to find a company who accepts this kind of inventory. Preferable candidate is a USA resident, it would be much easier and quicker to give a phone call to those companies.

I am looking forward to see your bids.

Thank you for all inquires so far. Since we still don't have the winner here, we would like to upgrade project details. It might be easier to find a company which would drop ship for us. Please find a fulfillment center or a wholesale distributor who would drop ship for us.

"Dropshipping, is a method by which you do not own inventory, and you have the owner of the inventory ship out products on your behalf. Often, you can advertise the products, as your own, and sell them on your own website, or through other channels, just as if they were your own products."

Hello, I own a consulting business in providing logistics software and technology to a variety of Third Party Logistics providers and Trucking companies in the USA. I have ready access to many owners of these corporations which I feel can be beneficial to you and your search. I can begin immediately in contacting my clients to inquire about the specifics of your product fulfillment needs with glass piping. Many of my clients service a number of industries and are located here within the New Jersey and New York areas and are readily accessible to the ports. Please feel free to contact me at 201-681-3345 as I would love to discuss your fulfillment requirements and begin starting to find you a suitable business match relationship. Regards Sanket

My bid is based on a phased approach, starting with product and packaging evaluation. Determining the exact nature of the product, shipping cycle expectations and experience, and whether or not other companies are shipping a similar product (no need to reinvent the wheel). Glass, in any form, is considered fragile item shipping; packaging is critical. Most fulfillment houses, unless they have direct experience with the same or a similar product, would be expected to be hesitant; damage control and liability. Especially in cases where the product comes in bulk packaged, then broken down and shipped out in varying unit quantities. Ultimately customer pricing will need to be considered; if your product represents high end priced goods, is there more room to utilize adequate packaging offering low probability of damage?. This may be overcome by volume; pulp wine shippers for example. If the situation is low price and anything less than high volume, how much damage are you able to absorb or allow as a percentage of total items received and shipped? If you believe you have adequate packaging, has it been drop tested and certified? If not, are you or your company willing to include such an effort? This initiative may be expected to positively impact “consideration” by most fulfillment operations; i.e. “Comfort level”. Everything from "fluorescent light bulbs" shipped to hundreds of “big box” retailers like Home Depot every day, to pipettes used in chemistry labs sent in small quantities to specialty retailers; anything is possible. The heart of this fulfillment project concerns fragile item shipping and packaging is key. In terms of scope of work, this project may best be approached in four or more phases. 1. Product Knowledge and Evaluation; 2. Understanding the Problem, Required Capabilities, and Proposing Solutions; 3. Surveying Fulfillment Houses or Other Alternatives Developed in Previous Phase (2) 4. Final Reporting Need more input from your side to give an exact bid. My main concern is customer pricing and whether or not the product is a low priced commodity. Case in point: go to any Home Depot and check out the section merchandizing pre-cut glass, used mostly by customers requiring replacement glass for framed artwork. How much of the product being displayed is already cracked or broken; 10%, 15%, 25%, more? At the same time, check out JELD-WEN’s glass windows and doors; I would expect no damage upon observation. This company’s products probably take up the most floor space in any Home Depot.
