Description

Program that searches PCR primers in a given dna sequence in Python
in the 5' - 3' strand and the reverse complement strand

No need for GUI
programs searches and gives the first hit as output for each strand

Primer is a piece of dna that has:
Length of 17 to 30 bases
GC-content about 50-60% (if possible)
The 3' end should have a G or C as the end base
Tm (melting temperature) between 55 and 65 ºC
Tm = 2ºC(A+T) + 4ºC (C+G) (A, T, C, G - number of respective bases)

Input:
Fasta file, or copy paste DNA sequence

output program:
Sequence primer 1 from 5' - 3':
Sequence primer 2 from 5' - 3':

I'm not a biology expert, so I do have a couple of extra questions and things to clarify if you pick me. I do however understand the jist of what you require, and am very experienced in Python. Hopefully we can get to work on this soon!

I possess 4 years of experience in development in python, mysql and java. 1 year of experience in development in PHP and c++, and 2 years Django and postgreSQL, Web Designing. My strengths are in python programming, database design, and system performance. Over the 4 years, I have developed software using Object Oriented Programming with java, delphi(basic), php(basic), django, ROR(Ruby on Rails), Ruby, python, c++(basic), and one year using Aspect Oriented Programming with python and JavaScript - Ajax and GAE(Google App Engine).
