Bid On This Project

Description

We have developed a content management system. We need someone to add content to it. Content will be provided. Content is in English, and may also contain pictures.

We need someone who has good written English and is IT-literate enough to learn how to use the content management system themselves with some initial guidance from us. You also should be sensible enough to point out if there is something that does not make sense rather than blindly posting it. NO PROGRAMMING REQUIRED.

Content management system allows the setting up of categories in a tree structure and pages. Pages can then be attached to the content. Please give a per-page price for this work.

The amount of my bid is a shot in the dark. I have worked as a copywriter for a large printing company. While there I used a content management system that was SQL/HTML/XML based. My technical experience made me the subject matter expert on the system. I also developed a style guide for its content to keep things consistent. Would be happy to discuss your project further with you.

Assuming that the task is to skim each piece of pre-existing content, quickly assess its general meaning, determine whether it fits an existing category in your CMS, and if not, create a new category in line with the direction of the pre-existing categories, and then attach the content to the category (in the tree structure), here is my bid: $1.50 per item. I would categorize 100 items per week for $150 per week. I'm guessing you'll have a regular flow of content. My experience is with a large content management system at Gale, an online and print publisher which owns InfoTrac, and the electronic "Resource Centers" such as "Biography Resource Center" and "History Resources Center". I worked there five years as a business analyst on their electronic editorial system. At Ford I currently am the maintainer of a knowledgebase of articles that are stored, cross-referenced and categorized within the Microsoft SharePoint tool.
