This bid is covers edit of the entire two part project as described in your ad. My background makes me the prime candidate for this project. I have served as the chief editor for an international publishing company, and I have worked as a professional and creative writer for twenty years. My experience with children includes volunteer work with church, school, scouts, and teams (consistently for 20 years, teaching and literacy training, retail experience during my college years in an educational toy shop, and personal writing I have done for children's projects. In addition, I lead a poetry workshop that teaches children to channel grief and anger into artistic creation. I'm interested in your project from a personal perspective. I have experience as a drama teacher with a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Education, from kindergarten to high school students, so I have experience teaching students and have read a multitude of children's plays and older plays. I am a native English speaker who would love to help bring more theatre into the world. I enjoy the playful nature of children's theatre and have done several in-class projects with my students ranging from reader's theatre to improvisation.

I've read a few scripts and plays in my time--enough to understand how they flow. I'm currently a substitute teacher and work with children somewhat regularly, but I wouldn't call my experience with them "meaningful." I've done a few dinner theaters with a church acting troupe, all of which were light and playful. Clarity is my major concern in my own writing, and I'd like to believe that I have a knack for bringing it out in the works of others as well.

An average rate for a decent copyedit is $3.50-4.00/page, and for a copyedit and proofread by someone with design skills and playwriting experience, you're looking at closer to $6.00/page. I have 2 full years of screenwriting and playwriting experience on top of 15 years of copyediting, writing fiction and non-fiction, and desktop publishing experience. English is my native language. I currently assistant-direct for a children's theater company and work as a freelance writer and editor. My desktop publishing background includes book design and composition in FrameMaker, Quark, and PageMaker in addition to marketing materials for non-profit organizations of many types. InDesign would be a quick learn for me. I cannot do this job for under $250, but you truly do not want to shop this project out for the cheapest rates or you will get shoddy workmanship. I believe that you can get two out of three things on any job: quality, speed, or low cost. If you pick the lowest price, you will sacrifice either quality or turnaround time.
