Description

Need a Perl app that gets constants and math functions from a Wikicalc page (see http://www.softwaregarden.com/wkcalpha/), performs the defined calculations iteratively by varying starting value inputs until the output is minimized (or optionally maximized if selected), and then returns the starting values to the Wikicalc page. This is similar to the results of the 'Solver' add-on for Excel.

Attached is an example of what a Wikicalc page might look like. It won't be much larger than this, but the constants, variables and results may be in different cells.

I'm a little rusty on my mathematics, but super sharp with Perl. The web interface and value manipulation will be simple enough once I understand the Excel function definitions. If I can't get it right, then I wouldn't expect you to pay me. Let me take a shot at this and we'll see what we can come up with.

Dear Sirs, I have a minor degree in mathematics in addition to my 4 year Computer Science degree. Math and logic is my specialty. I've created a web based puzzle solver for the popular sudoku puzzles which I'm happy to show you once that's permitted by Freelancer TOS. My preferred language is Perl so though wikicalc is new to me, since it has a Perl version, I'm confident I can work with it readily. Thank you for considering my proposal!

I worked on exactly same requirement : Constrained Minimisation. Solver uses GRG and GRG2, but We can achive this on current machines with good logic in iteration itself.
