Description

This project is to work with the software NetMailBot (http://www.exclamationsoft.com/exclamationsoft/netmailbot/default.asp) on a Windows platform and accomplish the following process by using the software's many built in paramaters (http://www.exclamationsoft.com/exclamationsoft/netmailbot/help/parameters.asp#-popreceive) and perl.

Process that must be achieved:

Checks pop mail account every 5 seconds for mail. Save any attachments with custom filename.
Make an http request for name from email address
Watch a folder for files, use filename to determine recepient, send email with canned response and file attached.

Hi, I looked at the netmailbot command to pop the mails. The http request can be done via HTTP::Request module. For file watcher, either POE::Component::DirWatch can be used or custom script can be written. Details & queries in PMB. Ashish

Why bother to use NetMailBot? It's much better to do the POP login/retrieve direct from Perl. Takes about 3 lines of code to do. Don't pay any money for that crap software. Anyway, can do the whole thing in 1/2 day or less. Ready to go.

Hi there, Well i feel the first part ( check for mails and download attachments ) can be handled using netmailbot's popwatchwait and/or popreceive. The second part can be handled using HTTP::Request ( but i have a few questions on this ) . The last part can be run in batch mode using a Custom script. POE doesn't fit in well here as it would be blocking and doing nothing else other than watching the directory ( no multitasking ).. See PMB for Questions and details... Thanks
