Description

I need to be able connect to MS SQL database


use DBI
my $dbh=DBI->connect('DBI:Sybase:server=192.168.0.50','user','pass')

(getting error: no DBD::Sybase installed)

Computer with Perl and MS SQL database are located on our internal network on different computers
so you will not have access to these computers. I will need from you consultations/advise what should I install
in order make it work

I have DBI already installed

You need to get driver for Sybase installed from here http://search.cpan.org/dist/DBD-Sybase/Sybase.pm .

You are just missing one Perl Module (which can be installed via PPM or CPAN)

You just need to install the module DBD::Sybase which passes messages between DBI and a Sybase database. If you are using linux, you can install this package using CPAN (I can talk you through this if you've not used it before, though I suspect you have). If you're running Perl on a windows machine, I believe you can install the package using a tool called PPM (but I have only used this once, so if you need more in-depth advice you'd be better selecting a coder with Win experience)
