Hello,

we need a very simple CSV to XML converter. It should be written in Java or standard C and needs to run under OSX/MAC. Source code must be provided.

The program needs to work with 2 files. These should be taken from the command line, if possible (they could even be fixed, but please indicate that in your bid). As an alternative, the converter tool may prompt for them on the UI.

The input file is a standard .CSV file, as attached in the upload area. The first line (the header line) defines all the field names, all other lines are data records (standard CSV).

The software needs to take the data records, and rewrites them in the .xml format as in the provided .xml file sample, using CDATA, one record per line. quote signs must be handled correctly.

If you win the project, you need to write the software and then you need to verify that the software works by using the two files and provide us the resulting .xml file. We will then use the software and run it on the full .csv file (about 3000 entries) and only pay if the conversion works successfully.

A java implementation is preferred, because we then do not need to complile, or anything which runs on the OSX command line (terminal window). We think no XML libraries are needed, this is a very simple "read one line, write out the fields in the XML framing" job, should be doable in 2 hours for an experienced programmer.
