Hello, I am a quite regular player on Hold'em poker on both the internet and real life. The thing you most need to remember is that you never let your emotions rule you game. If you keep getting some bad hands, don't get frustrated. Remember a good fold is as good as a great hand. Another thing you need to learn is reading you opponent. Check and see when your opponent makes a bet. It will reveal what type of hand they have and whether you should continue with your hand is beaten or not. Also keep a keen eye on the flop, always be aware of any combination your opponent might have to have you beaten. Poker is a statistical game not a gambling game. A good statistician will be able to tell what the odds are of your opponent holding an advantage over you. It worked as a great reference for me when I started to play. I am sure it will help. But remember, you might even lose if you get a pair of aces dealt to you.
