has been made using php by another freelancer in project

The freelancer has been paid and is busy elsewhere. Data for puzzles are currently being stored in a mixture of .php files and MySQL database which is a bit of a mess.

* Take current code and change it so puzzle title, author, size, etc are all stored in the database, so nothing ever needs to be back-parsed from a php or html file.

* Modify code so that puzzle .php pages (eg. http://crossword.info/sample/key_word_demo/) call global template file(s), and are re-generated from database data when any of the puzzle information changes. [i.e. so pages are cached]). The idea being that e.g. the footer, layout etc can easily be changed in all puzzles on the site, and cached file re-generated whenever puzzle info changes.

* Add a user admin option for users to customize colors, fonts etc used for used on puzzle pages, and allow them to specify a header for all their puzzle pages.

* Fix problems with escaping quotation marks in titles, etc. Add option to puzzle description to specify whether text or html.

* Test off-site, then update live site to use new code and maintaining all existing puzzles without breaking anything.

Should be able to start right away and complete quickly. Please give sample of your previous php coding.
