Description: I need a script that will take a feed and then post its contents to a MySQL database, separating title, link etc. Only thing is URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration so that needs to be worked around. Feed could be something like http://www.blogsouthwest.com/blogsw/feed

I've dealt with XML before as well as direct HTTP protocol (using sockets instead of libraries) so this *can* be done. (unless sockets disabled too?) I'd like to use perl if it's possible?
