There are several commercial versions of these available but my preference is to have one in house so that I can trend the data. Project Background ================== I have some websites that need to be monitored constantly for uptime, performance and diskcapacity and reported in a very user friendly format, for the following parameters: - Number of visitors to the website - Visitor countries - Top 5 URLs visited - Site uptime - Bandwidth utilization - Site response time - Diskspace used (overall) - Diskspace used (all email addresses) This is standard information that is available in the Cpanel and AWSTAT website statistics application running on the server. I want the application to collect a snapshot of the AWSTATS statistics and place them in a ftp directory. I will then download these files and import them into a mySQL database so that we can run detailed historical reports in a user friendly format. Requirement: App 1: Site Monitor ================================ Parameters required: - Number of visitors to the website - Visitor countries - Top 5 URLs visited Software application that resides on the webserver, collects the information from AWSTATS directory on a definable time period (once every 5 mins to once every 24 hours), puts it in an XML format and places this file with a date and time stamp in the ftp directory with the website name, in a format: App1<website_name><date><time>. Requirement: App 2: Host Monitor ================================ Parameters required: - Site uptime - Bandwidth utilization for the time period - Diskspace used (overall) - Diskspace used (all email addresses) This information is available in Cpanel.
