Wordpress gurus only!

Due to circumstances beyond our control the last coder we found on GAF is no longer available- He was great!! We did quite a bit of work together. But we need someone else now & we're casting out into the GAF ocean again. We're proud of our site www.trax.org & need your help to update it & make it better over time.

Here are the things we need done ASAP:

1. Update to WP 2.8

2. Update Theme to its latest version. This update must also incorporate the changes & customizations in our current version. It may require looking at each file to make sure nothing is lost. Theme is Videoflick v2.3 - http://www.press75.com

3. If you look at our Home Page (which we call 'Splash Gallery') it is a collection of Posts represented by Thumbnails. We want only 9 Posts to ever appear on the Home Page & we want to be able to control which of our Posts we stick there. This cannot be achieved through meddling with the dates, or by using the Settings>Reading option, so don't suggest it.

4. It's also important that those sticky Posts on the Home Page to have a relationship to our menu structure, so when someone clicks a Post from the Home Page it automatically opens the Menu-category it is a part of.

5. Most of our theme has rounded corners, but there are some places that are not, like the comment form. We want every viewable window or dialog box cleaned up to be uniformly rounded.

6. We want a Comments Field to appear on Category Pages just as they do in Posts.

7. We want to place a colourful background banner (.png) which will sit at the top of the site behind all the elements you see already. We need a gallery-like placeholder that can be swapped out as needed (1024x250) Our template widget has something similar already, but we've turned it off because it is the wrong dimensions. Adapt that or add something like it.

8. We want our Post photos e.g. http://trax.org/stills to display in a neat & defined grid as in: http://coda.co.za/photography

9. Category clicking problem - Disable top & first sublevel categories from being able to accidentally open strings of Posts before expanding the accordian. (This bug is hard to recreate when the internet connection is fast.)

We are great clients to work with because we know exactly what we want, are easy to deal with & will definitely have future work. We are looking to build a relationship & our site has a lot of forward thinking conceptual elements which would be an excellent addition to any coder/designer's portfolio.

Our budget for this job is no more than $60 USD.
