Description

eCommerce Checkout & Subscription Management Script (PayPal and Micropayment.de API)

Features needed:

* PHP e-mail function that uses templates
* MySQL database
* communication with Micropayment.de API (see resources)
* communication with PayPal subscription/IPN (see resources)
* secure SSL connection (goal: user sees lock symbol in browser)
* simple AJAX (check payment information "live" and before form submission via API)
* create user download areas that are protected with unique usernames & passwords
* in the download area: visually gray out portions of the download descriptions links (= those that will be activated in the next months)
* "cloak" the download links in a way that (1) the real location of the files is not revealed to user or browser and (2) only the logged in user can download the files
* watch how often files are downloaded; if too often, monitor downloading IPs and check their geolocation via geoiptool.com (I already have a parser script for that); if too many different locations notify admin about possible abuse


Goal:

* checkout process for a 5-month download subscription
* payment types: paypal, credit card (API), bank debit (API)
* download area for user, secured by individual usernames and passwords
* offer download links for logged in user while hiding the true location of the files
* monitor payment status via API or via PayPal IPN (depending on how the user subscribed)
* block download links if a chargeback or abuse occurs
* unsubscribe user if payment stops or user unsubscribes
* offer a simple admin interface for subscription management

Update to the project description PDF:

In addition to "ending the subscription" I probably also need a function to "pause a subscription". When the script detects supsicious activity a user might be blocked. If he is blocked, he can't download anything anymore. In this case, the script needs to stop billing him. However, he might talk to me, and maybe he really didn't abuse the system. In this case, I want to be able to resume his subscription. It should then continue at exactly the point where it stopped: Imagine the term started on the 1st and he got blocked on the 15th. We might then send emails back and forth for five days, until finally on the 20th the admin decides that the customer is trustworthy and he resumes the subscription. In this case, the script should act as if it was the 15th again. In other words: All future dates (term ends/payment dates) must be shifted by as many days as the pause period lasted. If the pause period lasted 5 days, like in the example, all future dates must be shifted +5.

You'll probably find a way to do this quite easily. Maybe you could simply add a "pause_shift" counter to the database, that counts the duration of all pauses in days and is added in all calculation of future days?
