Description

client ( windsor technologies (dot) net ) wants to know if we can make these changes to the OS commerce reskin site we have made for them please give me a quote for each in PM and bid for total for all
1. Is there a way to add a category to the product. I see in the back office, where I can put in model, etc.
Can there be an extra section, so I can add things to a specific product, that not all products are the same on. ----------

2. Is there a way to add in a discount code section. I am going to have 2-3 sales people, and I figure a way
to track the sales they make off of the website would be to give them a "sales code" to give to there clients.
They could tell the client to enter in this sales code and they would get 10% off lets, say. And I would know
that that code belonged to my sales girl in PA, Jennifer. So when a sale comes through I know to credit her commission.
Unless you think there is an easier way? -----

I was thinking about the sales people situation. Just having them tell me so and so is going to buy something will
not work. My sales person could be calling on a client for weeks before they make a purchase, etc.
Thats why I thought if there was like a Discount Code, for instance. My sales person Jennifers code would be 12345,
and that way she would tell potential clients, etc. That by using the code they will get a 10% discount. This will
almost pretty much ensure that all of her potential clients would be tracked, by me seeing the 10% discount with that code.
Most people would use it. Also, any other sales people would have a different code, the client would think it was just
a 10% discount code, but for me I would know who to credit the sale to. It would be to hard to just assume a sale came
from a certain sales person, or for them to give me a heads up on a list of 300 potential sales calls they make. Also,
I want to make sure the sales person doesn't get credit for something they didn't make.
I also thought that in my email marketing I could put in discount codes for free shipping, and when someone buys something
they get a code for 10% off next puchase, etc..
Not sure how hard this is on your end, but seems to logically make sense to me for organizing sales, etc.. --------------

3. Is there a way to mark things clearance/sale price. I see the area to put in a sales price. But I know I have a
"specials section, I would like to reflect the original price and the sale price. Also, like I had mentioned previously,
I want the item cross referenced. So if someone searches for an IBM 4454, and it is on sale, it would show up on the
"specials/sales" page, as well as show up under IBM, but would be clearly marked it was on sale.------------
