Description:	This will be a multi-phase project. This is the initial phase. It is to include: * Make the site more current in its design, * Use current design standards (.css and XHTML compliant, etc.), * Move from a Windows based server platform to a Unix based platform, * Add-in some new, basic functionality specifically: - a tab or menu that allows visitors to find our locations - a tab or menu for job candidates - a tab or menu for customer feedback. I have set a low project budget because I expect we will purchase additional services or add-ons during this initial phase from the successful provider. That is, this project will expand and we will pay for additional work. If our budget is too low, bid what you think it will take to do it right and convince us. What is key in this phase is a new design and conversion to Linux-based server. I am also open to recommendations on using a CMS such as JOOMLA or DRUPAL or blog software such as Wordpress. A second phase, not this project, will be to add more functionality. I will share some of these second phase needs so that the successful designer can take them into consideration. Background: The site is www.ashleys.com for our three restaurants. The site was originally built when we had just one restaurant. The site was designed using tables, <font> and other out-of-date design techniques. It was built on a Windows server using .asp which are too limiting in my opinion. The layout is not easily expanded for new functionality. It is not easy for our staff to add in upcoming events and activities. It is not interactive for guests to add comments, provide feedback or buy on-line our merchandise. Additional considerations and resources: We have a test area separate from the main site. The host company is bluehost.com so we have easy access to the Fantastico suite of scripts, MySQL, PHP, etc.. Look at their web-site for tools that are freely available. We will give access to the sub-directory so the programmer can work and test, and we can review, the web-site as it is being redesigned. I am a strong believer in using open source applications rather than extensive programming from scratch. But if it does not make sense to use an application, then we don't need to use it. I need our website built for our customers not our corporate ego (that is, no flash introductions). We have different logo's that can be seen at www.pspgs.com/ashleys/logos . We have a graphic artist we work with if we need additional logo design work done. Second phase - This will be a separate project that will be put out for bid but obviously preference will be given to the first phase's winning bidder. Some may be pulled into the initial phase as add-ons at our additional expense. We have many ideas we would like to implement to make the site more interactive for visitors and easier for our managers to post upcoming events and activities. Some of these ideas include: * Rotating image on our home page of a featured beer * Most recent comments/reviews entered in our beer review section * link to our Loyalty Club – Farthest distance photo? Ashley’s travels the globe. Program rewards. Link to your account. * Merchandise/e-commerce tie in * Gift Cards * Beer Review – Database driven with admin for updates and allow registered users to comment and review the beers we serve. * On-line menu * News and Upcoming Events * Delivery/On-line ordering * E-club mail list sign-up * World Beer Tour The loyalty card and gift card provider has their own engine so all we'll need to do is link to it but we'll need to provide program details. Other suggestions of web-site needs our staff made: # We definitely need a space for people to comment about the beers we have/beers they want to see us to carry. Maybe some sort of discussion area/forum. This would also be a good place for people to share their experiences here in general. # A gallery page, especially for the special meet-the-brewer events where we could post pictures of all the great breweries that have stopped by. This would also be a place to post pictures from st. patty’s day, home games, lobsterfest, etc.
