Description

The site is will assist people looking for apartments in my hometown city called Burlington, Vermont. I want the site to allow landowners to login (which they can now) and put up information about their residence that can be rented. One of the key elements of this site that will make it unique will use the Google Maps Component that is available on Joomla.

I want (in order of priority)
1.) When an apartment is entered into the site, a marker is automatically created. The marker will be setup into categories based on the size of the apartment (number of bedrooms).

2.) The marker should display some of the apartment information if the marker is clicked. Information could include a picture, price, and location.

3.) The ability to then do a search (that will show the results on the map) that will show the locations of all apartments that satisfy the search. This search can be a simple search and an advanced search.

A simple search example:
"2 bedroom apartments"
"2 bedroom .5 miles from Church Street"

an example advanced search would be:
"2 bedroom less than $1300 on .5 miles away from Church Street"

I know these types of searches can be done since the Google Maps API can give those distances. I am just not familiar with the API code necessary to get that data out.
