Description: Dear coders,

I am looking to have a program designed. The language doesn't matter; as long as its functional, and can be modified as our competitors come and go, etc. I am open to ideas and suggestions, as I am sure this idea has already been done before. Never the less, here is what I am after:

Essentially what I want to do is:

Phase 1:

1:1- Download our Oscommerce database in CSV format (we sell computer hardware).
1:2- Download our supplier’s price list in CSV format.
1:3- Search/crawl our main competitors for their prices on our hardware- (the hard part).

Phase 2:

2:1 Import our model numbers and current sell price into two Excel columns.
2:2 Import our suppliers cost price (inc. tax) for said product into the next column.
2:3 Import 3-4 columns of our competitors prices for said product.
2:3 Allow blank column for manual entry of our new sell price.
2:4 This continues on down the page for all of our products (about 500).

The idea is simply to see our cost price (inc tax), and what our competition is now selling it for. We use the final column to set our new sell price- manually making sure we're not losing money.

Phase 3:

3:1 Export said manual price column out of Excel, and import it into our Oscommerce database.

Sounds easy in theory right? If only it was :)

Intimately familiar with the OSCommerce data structure, can do with no further info (except your data and list of primary competitors). Primary language will be Perl, since scraping and data conversion will be drastically expedited versus other technologies. PHP/HTML front end will allow for easy activation of script steps and download of resulting data. Final deliverables will be the following: (4) separate Perl scripts (one for initial data extraction, one for competitor price aggregation, one for rendering the final Excel file and one for importing the new sell price to OSCommerce) plus (1) PHP script and (1) HTML document providing buttons for script activation and downloading the updated Excel file. Price quoted is assuming 50% in escrow released upon delivery, remaining 50% paid within (2) weeks of completion. If entire amount is placed in escrow at project start, the bid should read $700.
