The frontend will be coded in PHP and will consist of forms and be powered by a MySQL backend. Asterisk will interact with the SQL backend by way of PHP AGI using our own PHP AGI library. You will require a minimum of 1x server for Asterisk, preferably a Dual Opteron. Of the 25,000 calls you make, how often do you make them (aka number of simultaneous calls). We are also a telecommunications wholesale provider, and can provide you the termination minutes if you are interested. There is a web site where you upload Soundfile file you want to broadcast and all the Numbers (with grouping if required) and schedule a date time or week to call yr customer and play the soundfile you uploaded earlier. I have been administering asterisk PBX for 7 years now. I have worked on various asterisk based projects. My answers are the following: 1 Linux SO, I reconmend Gentoo Linux, Asterisk 2 If the connection to telecom providers is PSTN we are need a voice board and a server. If connection is VoIP you need only a server 3 The bandwith depends of voice coders. If is used g711 you will need 85kbps/voice channel. With g729 you will need 30 kbps/voice channel. 4 Depends of how many channels you will have available in the same time. For 30 channles the calculation is 25000/30 ~ 834 call per channel. 834 calls X 1.5 min = 1251 min / 10 hour X 60 ~ 2 days. 5 10 days. 6 Depens the cost of telecom providers / call. The cost for hardware is ~ 2500 euro . If the cost per call will be ~ 10 euro cents the cost of calls will be 2500 euro.

We're communication VoIP company in Ukraine. Asterisk is a simple solution,but not too good for this task. It will not fit many simultaneous calls. Better solution is a small light dialer we can write for you, or SER+special plugin. There is no special hardware - using landlines not a good idea. For good calls quality bandwidth is about 64kbit/s per call. Actually you will use mutch less, but voice calls very sensitive for traffic drops. So 100Mb network is about 1500 simultaneous calls. If you pay per Gig traffic your calculations may be 0.3*call_time or 0.3*25000( one minute message ) ~ 7.5-8 GB. You can place all calls in number of hours, but you should find good and strong voip provider in your region. The price per call allways depend on destination, but with your amount of calls you can get good discount. We are ready to implement full solution for you.

You will basically be setting up an asterisk system, adding 25,000 users to the database, place them in a voicemail broadcast group, and setup email notification for each user. The big question is: Will your current infrastructure support an outbound email blast to 25,000 addresses? Typical usage instructions: You will call a telephone number that will allow you to leave a voicemail message. After the message has been recorded it will be sent to the email recipient as a .wav attachment. The user can download/listen/archive the .wav file from the email message or by logging into a web portal account on the asterisk server. Easy stuff ...... Enjoy.... Joe
