Description:	I’m still looking!! There is a specialized music font, called Kidnotes, It’s produced by DVM Publications (http://www.dvmpublications.com/kidnotes_information.htm) When installed, Kidnotes displays note names inside the note-heads of a musical score, making the music notation easier to read. I use the Font in a music-typesetting program called Finale 2002. You can download a demo of the latest version here (http://www.finalemusic.com/). Problem is, the font is transparent. Thus the note G appears with a black line running through the serif of the white letter G, making the G look like a C. Similar problems occur for other notes written on staff lines. I want the font modified so that the letters are white, not clear. After the font is modified, the output from Finale will resemble the “What it should look like” JPG in the ZIP file. All the samples you should need are here: http://andrewscottmusic.com/music-font-project.zip Some people have told me that the problem is caused by Finale overwriting the note heads. However, Finale’s support team says otherwise. In their words: “Our staff lines will not overwrite notehead fonts. The order in which the screen is drawn will not allow it. To prove that the KidsNotes font is transparent, I have conducted a little experiment: Attached is a screen shot of KidsNotes used in Finale 2008 with a colored background. I have used Finale 2008's colored background feature to expose the transparency problem in the KidsNotes font. This can be reproduced by using the font on any program that has the ability to use a colored background or an alternate page color. I should mention that modifying Finale is never an option. Anybody who claims to have this ability should also let you know that this is illegal and that you are working outside of the license agreement. Once you modify Finale, you lose support and the license agreement is broken, which would prevent you from upgrading to future versions of Finale. I'm guessing the attached 'How-it-should-look' examples have been touched up by a graphic program or the publishers of the document have made their own font.” The most likely approach seems to be to command that places a JPG, bitmap or some such graphics file over the note heads as the note is placed on the staff. It won’t work to try to create a 2-color font, as much as I wish this were possible. To complete the project you must be able to send me a music file, or a jpg, you created with your modified font, showing the letter-names properly displayed, You will also need to provide a 1. copy of the modified font that is capable of being installed on my Windows XP computer and which works as specified above with Finale 2002. 2. An updated spreadsheet , showing the locations of all the graphic symbols required Please don’t bid if you intend to add letters to the finished file with Photoshop or something similar. I want something to create the effect in real time. I look forward to your bids.
