| Description: |
I am trying to develop an e-commerce store using CS-Cart (shopping cart software) which will provide custom letters for download, after purchase, in PDF format.
Currently, we have a series of typical business letters that we've created, letters which need to be individually adjusted with details submitted by our customer. All our letters have standard elements like "Dear (somebody)" and a mail to address and a return address, a body, signature line, etc.
I want my customers to answer a few questions on our order form (supplying their address, sex, names, and so on) and then use their submitted details to fill in the blanks on a letter we offer and finally generate them with a unique letter based upon their own details, once paid for. The final letter again, can be downloaded in pdf format.
For example. A letter reads:
"(Mr or Mrs) (Last Name) started to work for us (season) of (year)"
On the order form for this one particular letter, in product options, there would be a drop down menu called "Choose your season" with the choices of summer, spring, winter and fall. There will also be a slot for documenting their gender and a text field indicating the year they started a particular job, along with other necessary options that must be answered. If the customer chooses "summer", 1995, Anderson (as their last name), and states that they are a female (Mrs or Miss) ... the particular line in this pdf letter would read, "Mrs. Anderson started to work for us summer of 1995"
The final letter can be downloaded instantly, if paid for.
In total, we have about 5 letters (that's it). I have each letter I've made written out with questions I want answered such as “he and she” or “his and her” and information about dates, names, and so on.
I would also like a spot on the letter in the upper left corner for a logo. The customer could upload any image they link by browsing for it on their PC or supplying a link and that image (that they give us) would appear in the upper left corner. If not image is submitted by the customer, the area would be left blank.
As far as signatures go, I want each customer to have the option of choosing from 3 different generic signatures (we’ll supply the images) or leaving the signature line blank … for them to sign.
I am not familiar with this sort of programming and I'm not sure how to adjust my current letters in .doc format for this type of programming. I will gladly give you everything I have.
I have also checked with CS-Cart and this sort of programming is possibly!
Other concerns I have:
1. Limited the numbers of times a customer can make changes to their original letter. I don’t want them using the same letter thousands of times.
2. Give them a time frame to access the letter. 48 hours. Limiting the download key in CS-Cart is often pretty simple.
If anybody has any other questions about this project or needs samples of letters, etc, please ask.
I have attached a sample of coding that may or may not be beneficial. I have been told that this is a standard html to pdf project.
Thank you!
