Description

there will need to be a username/password entry to get access to the application. There will be one main admin (me) and I can add other users that will use this data entry app.

once logged in it is a very basic data entry app that lets you input information about businesses (think as if I was trying to enter in information you'd find on a basic yellow pages guide).

There will be roughly 10 variables or less that can be entered in about each business entry, I will provide all variable input information once I have found a freelancer. Once the information has been entered, the application also adds which specific user entered the information and assigns a reference number to each entry, and stores it in a table. The table, which is just a sortable list basically of all the businesses and their info, can be viewed online any entry can be selected and edited or viewed specifically. In addition, the table must be able to be sorted by the different variables provided (i.e. business name, city where its located, etc.). Also, a basic search tool to find entries would be a nice plus, but nothing too fancy, just something very basic. For example, we should be able to search using a zip code, and all the entries with a specific zip code should come up. Also, I plan eventually on implementing my database with Google Maps, so if you have any experience with this that would be great, however I could always find someone else to do this part of project.

Some basic things the admin can see that other users can't: Only I (the admin account) can view which user logged in and when (date/time), I will need a complete history for each user, and how many entries they added when they were logged in (Today, Yesterday, two days before, and so on). Users can only view/edit entries that they've made, but the admin user account can view/edit all entries. Also, the admin account is the only account with the ability to add and delete other user accounts. I would also like to be able to see how many entries a user added per hour they were logged on, this should be a simple averaging using the two data sets. Also, the application should know if an entry is a repeat or if there is another entry in the system with a lot of the same information, such as the name of the business and the city or state. Then when a user tries to enter it, it will say "There is already an entry with similar information", and then have it cite the reference of the other entry.

This project requires that the application/php script be made and uploaded and ready to use on my website upon completion of this project. I understand that this is not too complicated of an application for an experienced programmer, and shouldn't take more than a few hours to make. It is simply a basic username/login system attached with a script that allows me and other users to enter data to a table. But I want potential bidders to know that this is the first of hopefully many future small projects for my site, and I am looking to form a long term business relationship. Also, if you think this could be programmed more easily with something other than PHP, I'm open to suggestions.
