Description: I am using dreamhost.com for shared web hosting. My site requires a custom compiled PHP5 engine for my .htaccess file to work.

You will get shell access (no root/sudo because this is shared hosting).

.htaccess file looks like:

AddHandler php-cgi .php

I use dreamhost's mysql service so make sure what you do wont disrupt any sql features.
