I have a WordPress website that I need optimized for performance. Right now, if the page is not locally cached, it typically loads in about 7 - 8 seconds. And then the sub pages in about 4 or 5 seconds. Nothing shows up on the screen for like 4 seconds. That's bad.

We have WP Super Cache running, so it is serving up rendered html cached on the server. This helps a little. We have also optimized all of our graphics and images and consolidated them into sprites.

I have attached the Firebug/ySlow analysis of the Home Page. You can run this analysis yourself in your Firefox Browser. And you will see from the analysis that the Opportunity for Performance Optimization lies in the following four areas:

1. Reduce the number of HTTP requests by consolidating CSS files
2. Reduce the number of HTTP requests by consolidating Javascript files
3. Move Javascript to the bottom of the page if they are deferrable
4. gzip compression and delivery

You, as an expert, may know of additional opportunities for optimization. Feel free to make suggestions.

My budget is $50 max. However, if you do a fantastic job and really blow my socks off (like making all the pages load in less than 2 seconds typically), I will come up with a bonus and probably send you more of this kind of work. I would love to find a true expert at Website Performance Optimization.

If you have no feedback here on GAF or on some other Job Board, then please don't waste your bid. I plan to hire someone with demonstrated experience and great feedback.

I need this turned around quickly. Please let me know how quickly you can do it. Please don't bid if you think it will take you more than 3 days. Please don't bid if you have a vacation, holiday, wedding or some other event coming up in the next week. Know what i mean?

I **really** appreciate daily communication. If you don't communicate and the deadline you commit to comes and goes, then we are done. I will cancel and post and incomplete report. I am just asking that you commit to communicate, commit to date of completion that *you* pick and for you to keep your word. If you do that, this should go great. If you don't, i will need to move on. I hope that sounds reasonable to you. :)

Lastly, i am willing to use the GAF escrow system although i would prefer to just put 50% in escrow until sufficient progress has been demonstrated. I have had bad experience on GAF where i put all the money in escrow and the Provider disappeared for weeks and eventually didn't deliver what was promised and it took about 40 days for GAF to arbitrate and free up my money (SOFTWAREDEP). Major hassle. Or TheNapster who abandoned his commitment because he suddenly needed to go out of the country for a belated honeymoon. So let's discuss terms that we both can live with. You can see from my feedback that i try to be generous and make these projects a win-win experience. :)
