Description: I am looking to create my first Facebook and/or OpenSocial application.

This project will consist of two parts:

Part 1
======
Educate/teach me a little about what can or cannot be done on Facebook and/or OpenSocial. I have a programmer on staff and use contract programmers from time to time. We are familiar with and use PHP/MySQL extensively. I am looking for someone VERY FAMILIAR with Facebook and/or OpenSocial to get us up to speed and started on this first application. If you do a good job, I'll be back for additional work on this first project and more applications in the near future.



Part 2
======
Create the initial version of the application which will:

- Allow a user to create a collection of items within his profile/account. These items will be selected from a master MySQL database/table containing all possible items (we will provide this master table).

- The user will be able to "rate" each item with a 1-10 rating and also be able to write a small review on the item.

- Users will be able to search for other users that have the same item.

- Users will be able to search the master table and see the ratings and reviews that other users have left.


This is just the beginning of this project, I need someone that already has developed Facebook and/or OpenSocial applications - please provide samples and/or more information about the work you have done.

A few basic questions about the Facebook / OpenSocial applications/platforms:

- Can these be hosted on standard Linux servers?

- Anything special we need to install or have installed on the servers?

- Are there specific hosting providers that are recommended for these applications?
