I'd like to create something like this site, but with user logins where a person can create their own start page with and customize their options.

the person will be able to register for an account with captcha, pick which categories to show on their main page, the sites that will show will be from a list that the admin will pick.

for example:

when the person clicks on news, their will be a list of news sites with up to 8 choices per category.

the person will have the option to enter their own site with a custom image or icon to load for that custom site.

I will need this site finished within 2 weeks of the wining bid.

I would like a lot of java and ajax for smooth transactions and a backend sql database.

we have a good experience in developing AJAX portal in GXT frameworks.it is a java ajax frameworks.it has more smooth drag and drop controls with ajax with support for major back ends and not embedding the java script to the pages.
