Description: Qisso, an interactive agency in Massachusetts USA and Goiania Brazil, is looking for a Web Application Developer with solid PHP/MySQL skills plus a willingness to learn Ruby on Rails and other technologies that meet our clients’ needs.

- Minimum 3 years of experience with a scripting language or object-oriented programming (PHP or Java)
- Working knowledge of SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL experience preferred)
- Solid PHP scripting to maintain and enhance legacy PHP applications
- Ability to read and write XHTML and CSS and enforce clear and consistent standards-compliant markup
- A solid understanding of web-based content management systems (Open Source PHP CMS systems such as Drupal a BIG plus!)
- Working experience with the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), HTML, XML, Web 2.0 technologies (CSS, Javascript, AJAX, etc.)
- Working experience with SEO
- Working experience with Web Analytics (Google Analytics a Plus)
- Previous experience managing other web developers
- Thorough understanding of development process with demonstrated experience translating requirements into functional consumer-friendly applications. Individual must understand the fundamentals of software development, including best practices, but also respect and excel in situations where the business is constantly pushing the technical envelope on innovation.
- Demonstrated experience working with front-end design experts seamlessly translating user interface design into back-end functionality
- Detailed-oriented self starter and self manager
- Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously in a fully competent and autonomous manner.
- Strong general technology aptitude with a keen interest in the latest technology industry trends
- General understanding of unique attributes of the baby-boomer generation is a plus
- Passionate curiosity about our business.
- English verbal and written communication skills


Even better, if you have…
- Experience working with developers, producers or designers to integrate templates and application layer with error-free implementation
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails
- Experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers for live sites (web, email, database)
- Experience working in the design field and ability to achieve a consistent vision throughout the production process
