Description
Our Aim.We wish to meet a company/individual who will maintain our websites, a long term relationship.
We own 2 websites:-
www.autoadvan.co.uk
www.japaneseauctions.co.uk
The winner of this auction will be responsible for the redesign of BOTH websites.
www.autoadvan.co.uk – This is for sales of vehicles at fixed prices from Japan.
Vehicles appear on this website in two ways.
1) Manual entry. Our staff in the UK manually types and uploads the data onto our database. Photos can be uploaded.
2) Data pasing from a website (Farmed from a website). I have provided an example of the data which needs to be farmed. This attachment can be viewed on the PCB. This website is password protected which we have the password to. We require automatic farming everyday at a specific time. It should look for updates and update our site accordingly. Because the password changes monthly, we will require the ability to change the password so we can farm the site.
Once farmed, the data is to be placed into a searchable database for the end user.
This database must be fast. Customers must be able to search by certain criteria such as year of vehicle, price, model, grade, color.
If possible there should be a picture preview of each vehicle once search is made.
It will be a very large database, about 100,000 entries. All data can be saved onto our server, we have plenty of bandwidth and web space.
There will be two options for customers to purchase, as an FOB price or as an all inclusive price (the all inclusive price is open to only UK customers). This must be explained to the customer on the website through a good help system.
We have a forum for FAQ questions. This will be linked to the website.
Customers can search the database, however to see vehicles in detail (larger photos, vehicle specs) they need to join as a member (free of charge). A screen should pop up stating this.
Once customers see a vehicle they like, there is data in Japanese about the vehicle. They can ask for a translation. To get this, they must enter the vehicle reference number and details into an online form which is emailed to us. This membership should be tied in to the forum membership so they only have to sign up once to join forum and website.
There needs to be an area where customers can view the number of translations they have made and on what vehicles. This area should be called ‘Account’.
This should preferably all be integrated into a suitable CMS system. The website requires a complete redesign to look more modern, sleek with clean lines. It should look more alive, at present, it is a little dull.
All data pasing data should be saved onto our server.
www.japaneseauctions.co.uk – This website will be the same as above except there is no need for the manual entry option.
Data is parsed (farmed) from the same website as www.autoadvan.co.uk .
Customers can Bid on vehicles through an email form to us. Then it is handled manually. A record of this is needed for customer reference in the ‘Accounts’ section.
Both websites share the same forum.
There needs to be a calculator so customers can determine total import costs. We will discuss this further with the project winner.
There needs to be a link from Japaneseauctions.co.uk to Autoadvan.co.uk as Japaneseauctions.co.uk is auctions only and will not allow customer to purchase at a fixed price.
Japaneseauctions.co.uk should be placed into a CMS system.
This site already has a template we are happy with and will not need redesign. We can provide the template files. If the project winner can suggest a better design then we are open to suggestions.
This part of the website will have access to market price data (which is also farmed in the same format). This is so customers can see the sort of prices these vehicles sell at. This market price data should appear when customers search for a car. A list of cars in auction should be seen by the customer and under it, some market price data for that year and type of vehicle.
Both websites must be SEO friendly. A good CMS should take care of this easily.
There many be small adjustments to the spec.
Terms of payment
FULL payment will be made once BOTH websites have been completed.
Client can request half payment if one of the websites have been completed.
We have an open time limit, however we do expect delivery within 2-3 weeks.
We are very open to ideas and suggestions.
Please see the data in the project clarification board before you bid. You must be able to create an application to data parse/farm the information so we can use it.
