The PERFECT program would be somewhat like customink.com but for CD based media.
They select a product type, like data, video, audio... then upload their files. Depending on the type of product they are creating they would then get different options.
If they were uploading audio, they would get to program track names and order... then get to select an output format, design a cd cover, and then design the packaging.
If they were uploading video, again... they would get to design a menu, select output format, etc...
The credit card system is still to be determined, and I will also offer a "thumb drive lease" program so they can rent a thumb drive from us to help them give us their files.
The ability to create DVD/BR menus online would be our major selling point. It would be awesome if our system just created a template for me to load then burn... but its probably too difficult. But for a consumer to select a dvd menu from like 8, then customize the colors, fonts, and text might be possible.
I want it to be different by allowing users to completely design and entire product... then have the ability to purchase one for fifty... plus we hold it in a storefront for them like www.cafepress.com.
I am looking at using Roxio Toast 9 to burn the content, then a cd/dvd label printer to create a high quality label. I then will use my color laser printer (Samsung CLP-300) to create the additional materials.
The exported materials (for me to duplicate) would need to be compatible with Apple computers.
Our products/services would include; -VHS/ Mini DV conversion to DVD/BR Media -CD/DVD/BR Media Design (using the DIY utility like customink.com) -CD/DVD/BR Media Sales and Distribution (like cafepress.com) -Automatic Publish to Amazon.com (to boost sales) -Video Production -Video Editing -Audio Production (like a recording studio) -Equipment Leasing (thumb drives, HD cameras, fire wire/usb hard drives)

The website will be loaded onto a lower end testing server for complete design and functionally testing. Once the website has been be at operating level for 30 days we will switch the website to a more powerful server. I am experienced with server handling, I am just trying to save costs during development. I am requesting an additional 2-3 months of support and one year of bug fixes after a finalized version is released.
I also want to include Google analytics, advertising, and I am heavily considering using the Google Checkout billing system.
All of my products/services need mini modules to control and operate that service... or in some cases just a webpage talking about it (like my video production)
Also, for the seller system... it needs to be very similar to cafepress.com in regards to the ability to have multiple sites under one user account. I am expecting some people like wedding videographers to give their customer the purchase link to share... and other products in the cart would be ugly.
My system is very much like customink.com, cafepress.com (but for cd media), and createspace.com All-in-one.
