Description: We are looking at developing a project similar to Deviant Art.
Some of the functionality in summary includes

•A system to allow users to sign up, email verification will be needed and a domain blacklist will be required (ie hotmail emails etc)
•Users can upload their artwork, they will be able to upload multiple images and provide various pieces of information including the year, if its watercolour, Oil etc, the physical size of the original piece, description, subject area (fantasy, surreal etc)
•Users will be able to comment on the piece of work and rate it. The system will also count how many times it has been viewed etc.
• Users can sign up to a network including the area they live and also which college/school/uni they are at similar to Facebook. If they are at a uni they will need the correct uni email.
• Users will be able to create a public profile
• Users will be able to receive and send private messages
• People will be able to view new and popular lists, they will also be able to browse by categories etc
•Networks will also be browse able ie I can select artwork from a specific uni.

On the admin side of things I would need to be able to:
•View recent sign ups etc
•Moderate users and ban them
•Moderate comments and ratings. Swear filters and IP filters would be useful
•Add categories and manual additions of artwork
•CMS and News functions allowing me to add individual pages or provide relevant news

Other requirements would include:
•Easy integration of advertising such as adsense
•Clean XMTML code that is table-less where possible
•SEO Semantic Coding
•Proper use of server side includes to reduce unnecessary code etc
•PHP that is commented and
•Load Speed optimization
•Full compatibility with IE/FF/Opera etc
•Dynamic layout to fit the appropriate screen size
•All PSDs should be supplied on completion to allow us to make amendments if needed

We also plan to develop the system further in the future so having the site coded well so we can add functionality at a later date is very important
