Description

This project comprises the development of a web application/script that takes PDF/Word/jpg files and converts them into an impressive flipping ebook in flash.

The application must be in a form of a script, easily installable to any website. The application must have an easy publishing interface that will ask the user which file to upload and then modify the presentation with customizable options such as background, auto-flip, dimensions etc. Also it must ask the user where to store the output .html / .swf file. The client must have the ability to auto produce an embeded code for his website.

The viewer must have options such as, search text, zoom, index page, print, download etc the publication.

We would like the application to be similar to the functionality in the sample.

As an overview: The application accepts a PDF file, extracts .jpg images of the pages,creates thumbnails, parses the text in the pdf and stores in xml to create a searchable document.

The output file then is shown in flash as animated flipping pages with a navigation toolbar. The user can click on the page to zoom in (higher resolution .jpg shown) and click to zoom out.

The pdf is parsed for website addresses and those addresses are shown as embedded, clickable hotspots in the ebook.

An example of a digital magazine is attached.

It is very important for the script to be easily installed in any of our clients domains. Every client of ours, who will need to publish e-books, must have the ability to do it. And the installation of the script will be done from us. During the installation we must have the option to include our logo / link or not. So that we will charge higher if the client doesn't want our logo to be displayed.

Please let us know if you have had experience with a similar project to this in your reply.

This project would be suite a company/individual with extensive flash experience and experience manipulating pdf files or someone who has worked on a similar project and has code reuse as a resource.

Further indepth documentation will be provided - the sample
application does however cover all of the functionality and would
provide a map to design.

If you have never done it, don't bid. I need ready made code so that we reduced expences
