Description:	We are in the process of building a flash website for a customer. The left banner and header is 100% flash and the body can be either flash or html (the latter would be easier if you choose the Ajax approach). The reason why this project requires flash or Ajax is that the client wants One part of the website is a flash gallery which is what needs to be coded. The view gallery area can be accesed in two ways. One through the main website and one through a login area. They will look identical and share the smem products. The only difference is the view gallery area through the login area will also show the price. We need to be able to give the client the ability through a backend (backend can be static html or flash... whatever is easier) the ability to add/remove/modify items which will give him the ability to upload images (and auto resize) and assign to 1 of 5 predetermined categories. Categories are not dynamic and are fixed. Also assign an item # and description to each item. The admin also needs the ability to add/remove/modify vendor access logins for his vendors. Each one of his vendors will be provided a separate login so they can access their own gallery area where they can assign a price to each item so they can then show their customers the products with their own pricing. SO each vendor when logged in, will have a shared gallery, but each will show different pricing. The descriptions, images, and item #s will all be pulled from what the admin has asisgned to each item. The vendor login area is where vendors assign a price to each item (can be in html or flash). But the view gallery area they use to show their customer the items with pricing needs to be in flash or Ajax. WHen a user enters the view gallery area through the main website, they will see 5 categories to choose from as well as a special category called favorites. They click on the category and then see all the image thumbnails with the item # below (associated with the selected category). When a thumbnail is clicked a larger version of the image appears. When an image is enalrged, it should appear as an effect similar to http://www.magictoolbox.com/magicthumb_basic/ (this is an AJax example). Below the image will be 2 button: More Info and Add to Favorites When more info is clicked, the description of the item appears (next to the image would probably be best). If a user clicks on Add to Favorites, it will put the item into the favorites area. If the user goes to the favorites area, they will see all the items they have added (it will function like a regular category in how a usre navigates through the favorites area). The vendors view gallery area will function 100% in the same exact way. Only diffeerence is they will also show pricing information when they click on the more info button. Again, vendors cannot add items. All they can do is assign pricing to items. In Smmmary, you will need to create the following backend admin areas: Admin Area This is a password protected area where the admin logs into to perform the following tasks: This backend area can be html or flash or Ajax. Your choice... a) Create/manage/delete vendor logins and password. Vendors who are provided a login will be able to log into site through vendor area (described above) b) Create/manage/delete Gallery images. Ability to upload and assign product images to a section (as well as item numbers and descriptions), Thumbnail is uploaded via browse button. Vendor Area This is a password protected area (username/passwords created by admin and provided to vendor) where the vendor logs into to perform the following tasks: a) Manage Item Pricing. From here, vendors can assign a price to each item. Vendor chooses the section and will see all the items related to that section and simply inputs the price into a text box and clicks submit. Can be done in html. But Ajax or flash is preferred. b) View items. The purpose of this area is for the Vendors to show their own clients all the items offered. They will be divided into categories like the main gallery and will look identical to the Gallery of Items accessed through the main site EXCEPT pricing (assigned by the vendor) will be shown next to the description. Each Vendor will be able to define their own pricing for each item. Photo Gallery system needs to be designed so it is easy to use and intuitive. So any updates by the admin must be done through an admin area. They should not have to deal with ftp or modifying xml files directly. The website is hosted on a Unix paltform and has PHP and MYSQL.
