Bid On This Project

Description

Website proposal: CameraPro.net.au

Requirements:

Page Design
Banner Design/Modification
Website/Shopping Cart/payment gateway integration
SEO optimization – please put this as an optional quote

Brief:

We require a website for our store camerapro.net.au.
We are sellers of high end photographic equipment, and need a high-class, high-quality website, which is visually appealing, easy to navigate, fast, and very comprehensive in its operation.

There will be a couple of stages in the development of the website.
The first will be as follows:

Design of the overall layout, page design, shopping cart + payment gateway integration, a COMPLETE, ready to operate website.
This will later be updated to reflect international sales, and will include currency calculator/ etc…

It is very important that as part of the website design, that it is created in a way which is very quick and easy to add/remove/update products which are listed on the site.

Key functionalities:
I anticipate that the website will over time draw a large volume of traffic, and hence I require that it run VERY fast, without delays between pages etc. It will be necessary I believe to have it hosted locally within Australia.
The site must be VERY user friendly, with intuitive navigation.
Display products in an easy to access and visually appealing manner [flash for displaying product photos already developed, so not required again]
Be very fast to navigate through, and hassle-free to go from viewing to choosing to checking out with the purchase of an item.
Provide facilities for customers to write reviews about products [with moderation from our end of course]
Provide a system which provides bonus points for buying products, such as “this product just earned you 500 points towards your next purchase”, and then have a system/database which records the points etc earned by particular customers/members. This system may provide bonus points for people who pay by bank transfer instead of credit card, to reflect the higher charge to us for accepting credit cards.
Provides facilities for feeding in news and links, so that the website overall can become kind of a hub of information within the camera industry.
Seamlessly accept credit cards, allow for input of customers details, and auto-generate email notifications for us, the staff here, of sales as they go through [I imagine the shopping cart should provide this functionality already?]
Allow options in the checkout for adding optional extras, such as warranties, camera batteries, lens filters, etc.
The shopping cart should be set up so that when somebody adds items to it, it would just display up the top of the site saying “items in your cart…” with a checkout button there.. INSTEAD of jumping directly to checkout. Once items are added to shopping cart, recommended extras such as batteries, CF cards, filters etc should show up down the page to add to the cart.
The shopping cart should seamlessly integrate with the rest of the website in terms both design and functionality, and so should the payment gateway.
The option of adding reviews, and also displaying bonus points for purchasing an item, should be similar in design to audiocubes.com >> please advise whether your quote would involve setting up a system which stores members details such as credit/bonus points etc…
I would like to have it so that it will store in user’s cache the recently viewed, and even items which are added to their cart, so when they return next time [even without logging in], it will show up these details… I am referring to the system used by bhphoto.com and amazon.com by this…
There should be an option for buyer to view products by category or vendor.
Display “Recently viewed” items in a section on the website which stores on customers cache.
Display “customers who viewed/bought this item also viewed/bought….”
Display best-selling items, and newly listed items.
Allow room for random specials etc we provide on certain products.
Provide a lot of room for links/SEO so that the website can be highly ranked in search engines, but also readily linked to many other websites.
Allow for newsletter sign-up.
Allow for “tell a friend”
Testimonials page.
Please advise if your quote includes SEO or not…?
The option of having the website inventory directly linked to a point of sale/accounting software of my choice which can immediately update status or whether an item is in stock, and number of items in stock etc. – please advise if your quote includes this functionality.
A VERY good and easy to use [with multiple filters for search requirements] search function.

Layout etc…
There will be multiple levels of product categorization, starting from links down left-hand side for the following approximate categories:
“Pro DSLR bodies”
“Pro Lenses”
“tripods”
“accessories”

Etc etc… [there will be around 10-12 master categories in total…
These will then link on to sub-categories, which will have
“Canon DSLR”
“Nikon DSLR”…
>“Canon Lenses”
“Nikon Lenses”..
Etc…

I like the overall functionality of camerasdirect.com.au, and would like a similar [although streamlined slightly if possible, such as less screens between adding to cart and confirming order…] shopping cart functions.
I also like adorama.com and bhphoto.com, with the latter, bhphoto.com being the site that I am overall attempting to emulate in terms of magnitude of functionality.
The site should be set up so that when somebody adds something to a cart, there is not only the options of adding warranty, etc, but also many other suggested items set up to show up below such as batteries, filters, tripods, whatever. Please explain if/how you would set up the database system to specify which products will be linked as suggested to the item the customer is buying,…

There should also be an option in the checkout for choosing shipping insurance, COD option [ie payment on delivery], pickup option, direct deposit, Bpay, and credit card….

Currently, we will work from the same overall design/branding as the following page which has been designed for ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300222551834&ssPageName=STRK:MEUS:IT&ih=020
please be aware that we are working on a total of 3 websites as above over the next 6-12 months, as well as 3 much larger versions of each which will include currency calculators etc and feeds off suppliers price, for shipping/marketing internationally. If we can strike a good working relationship, then there will be much scope for future work together!
Please advise expected time to completion, commencement date, cost, and any other points of suggestion, such as which shopping cart you would use, payment gateway suggestions [I am looking to use securepay.com.au payment gateway currently] etc.
Please also advise whether you will customize a CMS, build one from scratch, and what layout/editing/displaying code you will work with [will it be PHP or…?]

I WISH TO HAVE THIS PROJECT COMPLETED BY THE 20TH JUNE 2008...

Thankyou!

I look forward to hearing from you 
