Description

We want to create a small website that allows visitors to create custom hit counters for their personal web sites.

The site would contain a front page, and then perhaps one other page as a "terms of use and privacy policy" information page.

The user would select one or several styles of hit counters, then enter their page url into a text box (just for recordkeeping purposes). Then they would simply click a submit button and they would be presented with the html code that they can paste onto their home page footers.

The free hit counter code would also include a very small text link immediatelty under the hit counter that leads to a second website with some anchor text.

The backend of the website would contain a place for an admin to log in and enter urls that will be rotated into the counter code. We would want to set percentages, etc so that some url's would be used more or less frequently than others. We would want to have control over the url link and anchor text and how often the different versions would rotate upon download.

We would want to have a report sent to us either 1) upon each submission, 2) daily, or 3) weekly. The little admin console would have us select which option.

Some Questions:
A) Would we need a dedicated server for this, or could we use a virtual linux server?
B) What would be the price difference between having a single hit counter style and more styles? For example, how much of a price increase would there be if we wanted just one simple, windows-based hit counter style, or 10 different styles.. or 20 or 50 or 100 different styles? Once the code is written, would adding additional styles be simple?

Please let me know how soon you could do this and the price, and what we would need to provide concerning a webserver, host, etc.
