I am in need of some help customizing an already created OScommerce shopping cart. Here are our issues in detail.

1. Change cart so that it automatically goes to a specified page vs the “What’s new page”.

2. Sometimes we don't want the user to be able to order items because of stock levels. But we still wants the product on the website so they can view them. If we set inventory levels to zero the cart still allows the user to buy them. If we mark them as out of stock then they disappear from the cart.

3. The biggest issues they have are with the shipping module right now they are using the built in shipping module and values are added in based on dimensional size. Here are the problems:


a. With their custom items they have a delay time for being shipped as it takes them 6 days to make the custom item. From that point they can ship it regular, 2 day or overnight. But when people select the 2 day option even though they have in the text that there is a lag time they are still expecting the house in 2 days. There is place where you can put in a delay time for shipping so it doesn’t calculate shipping date for say 5 or 6 days. But if we set this then it puts a delay on ALL products and merchandise. Not all items are custom made however so some can go overnight not problem.

b. Next issue is when someone orders 2 or more items to the same address. It currently calculates the items shipping the same so you pay double for 2 items or triple for 3 items. But this shouldn’t be the case since they pack them in the same box. Shipping should only go up about $2 for each additional item.



c. Next minor issue – if one person wants to order 5 items but shipping them each to a different address they currently have to go through the order process 5 times putting in there credit card and address for each different address they want order to go to.


Maybe setting up some items on a separate shipping module so that prices could be calculated different than a regular merchandise item would be the solution.


4. The final issue is with the merchandise part of the cart. So say that they have a the same items that are all of different sizes. I would just have a picture and then enter in the attribute for the different size. BUT since they are different sizes they are also different prices. Do you know if you can pass a price along with an attribute? Otherwise we have to enter in 5 pictures that look alike and just have different size and price for each.
