Description
Industry Specific Chatting SystemWARNING: Please read all the way down, or your bid will not be considered!!! The objective of this project is to build an industry specific chatting systems to be used by our clients so they can get faster updates from us as well as other partners in the industry.
WARNING: The applications must be entirely developed in C#, web page in ASPX and DB in MS SQL. Other technologies will not be accepted.
The system will consist of four components:
1. A server hosting the necessary applications and components to make all the system work (we put the hardware);
2. A web interface where queries can be made to the server DB;
3. A client application where the server will broadcasts messages to;
4. Another application (or service) that will do some calculation on the client PC and will upload that data to the main server.
It is imperative that messages broadcasted by the server are received by the clients connected to it in real time. The use of timers to check if there is any message in the server is not allowed. A demo must be given, free of charge, of this specific functionality in order to be able to win the whole project. This demo application itself is useless, it will only be used to measure the connectivity and response times within a client and the server.
One part of the demo application will be installed in a server; this application will broadcast random size messages every few seconds to all clients connected (you are encourage to put your company name in those messages, so you see we will be using this for purely testing only). A time stamp at the moment of sending the message must be included on it to measure the latency between the server and the clients. The server part of the application can be provided by the programmer or company that will develop the whole system, as a guarantee that it is not being used for other purposes (meaning you put it to run in your servers). However, due to network latency, the messages being delivered may show a higher time, which is not good to compare the results with other bidders. We suggest this option to programmers and companies that have access to facilities to host this server component as close as possible to Japan, where the clients will be tested. IF you do not have that opportunity, we encourage you to give us the server application to install it in our servers.
The clients will be running in other computers, even outside of the server network, probably in a remote location. They will connect to the server and will display the random messages being sent, as well as the time consumed for the messages to be received based on the local time settings (local time – sent time).
The applications must be entirely developed in C#, web page in ASPX and DB in MS SQL. The use of other technologies will not be encouraged, third party utilities and libraries are ok, but take into account that the hosting for the server application will be Windows 2008 running IIS 7.0 and MS SQL 2005.

Once you provide us the demo application(s) and we test it, we will send you through a private message all the specs of the system. Only then you will be able to change your bid at a more appropriate charge and duration. You can ask for questions and clarifications, but if we do not receive the demo application your bid will not be considered.
