Description

This project is for a macro to be used in Excel 2000.

We use the Excel new web query function to download columns of names, never more than fifty, some of which contain apostrophes (eg King's Head). The names can comprise several words, there can be more than one apostrophe and an apostrophe can appear at any point, including after the final letter of the name, eg How's She Cuttin'.

One source from which we download uses a diagonal apostrophe (`), rather than a vertical one ('), and this needs to be changed before the data is entered in our database.

We would therefore like a macro which, when applied to the selected column of names, identifies any apostrophes and changes them to vertical ones. Thus How`s She Cuttin` would become How's She Cuttin'.
