Description
I have a PHP script that scrapes data from an XML file and loads into MySQL. It works fine with PHP 4 and allow_url_fopen on but has crapped out in PHP 5 with allow_url_fopen off. The script is attached. It does not include any other required files but just enough for you to see if it is something you want to do.The bottom line is I need to get this thing to work in both PHP 4 and 5 with allow_url_fopen turned off and anything else that constitutes the most secure configuration of PHP. Picture it running on the most paranoid web host's configuration of the latest PHP 5 and that is what I want.
Curl or any other solution that works is fine. I've already tried curl and it gets the file but causes the regex to not work. I also know that tweaking the regex is the only potentially difficult part of this job. The curl part is a 5 minute job.
Only the page containing the code I have attached will be edited. Nothing else.
Work will be done on your PHP 5 server with no escrow. Once it is working on your server, half project cost will be escrowed. After delivery and successful test on my server, escrow will be released and the other half paid.
