Description

Hey,

I need to setup Duplicity on Synology DiskStation 409 to encrypt files and create tar, then transfer updated files to remote server via rsync every night. I also need logging of recently changed files sent on mail of updates from NAS.

To avoid confusion, misunderstandings, and waste of time (again);

NAS -> encrypt data -> tar data -> rsync data to external server.

Data is not suppose to be encrypted on the external server and then transferred to the NAS. It's *from* the NAS. The DS409 runs a simple Linux distro, without any tools & utils installed.

You have to be pretty skilled with Linux in general and used to work in a tui based environment. Basic "skills" in light Linux distros as Ubuntu does not cover the insight and technical understanding needed for this case.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Henrik W.
