Description: I have a server running Ubuntu Server 6.10 I believe. I have isp config running to configure the various websites I have hosted on it. I need to either get my ftp working or have an open source server side program installed on it that can upload and download many files at once (if this exists) by May 2. BTW - The server is live and cannot be down for an extended period of time. Furthermore, it is at a location that is unmonitored and cannot be rebooted manually. I can ssh into it successfully and have no problem with web traffic but cannot fix the ftp even though traffic to port 21 is sent to the server. Please help.

I can help you with this, also a reboot is not necessarily needed. We can setup the FTP server thru SSH only.

Hello. It's not necessary to use FTP for file transfer when you have SSH set up. You can use SSH or (via SCP or SFTP) to do this without rebooting the server or installing extra software on the server. I can give you the information you need to use these.
