JOOMLA UPDATE to LATEST VERSION
************

Update Joomla 1.0.12 to the latest stable release 1.5.9 (with latest security patch). The website URL you will work on will be provided once your bid has been accepted. NOTE: This work must be carried out on Sunday 29th - Monday 30th April and be completed by 12:00 CET on 30th April. The site must also be offline no longer than 6 hours from start to finish. If you cannot commit to this schedule please do not enter a bid.

VERY IMPORTANT
************

1. - is that you first take a complete backup of the site and database and are absolutely positive that if anything goes wrong

that you can restore the original version.

2 - that all links and URLS on the current site still work after the upgrade of Joomla. The current URL format is as follows:

http://www.xxx.com/content/view/16/31/lang,german/

The standard Joomla 'search engine friendly URLs' option is enabled in the global configuration. You need to be sure that the

URLs do not change after upgrading Joomla since these URLs are widely referenced, both internally and externally.

3 - you test the functionality of the website after you have upgraded, including running a sitewide link check. Everything must work.


The web site also uses the following Joomla components which need updating to the latest versions compatible with Joomla 1.5.9:

JoomFish - configure as per current settings and configuration
JoomlaCloner (now XCloner) - configure as per current settings and configuration
Install EventList and configure as per instructions (see later)

HTML Editor
Install Joomla FCK editor
Please uninstall the existing JEvents calendar.
Remove existing menu links to JEvents pages in one of the sub-menus, so that the links are not broken (details to be provided).


EVENT LIST
************

Install latest version of EventList

Categories:

Create 2 event categories (details will be provided)


Layout:

We only need 3 columns in any of the event list displays:

Datum (date) width =20%
Titel (title) width = 50%
Venue width = 30%

These columns MUST be fixed width and therefore the table layout must be the same for any view. You will probably need to edit

the default template PHP files to achieve this as this level of control does not exist with the config area.

Create a test venue and two event entries to test the event listing layout.
