1. HTTP might be a better idea - Android has good support for HTTP communication - the Android SDK includes the commons HTTP client in addition to the java.net.Http* classes. 2. In one of the applications I developed, I have successfully implemented the SyncML protocol on Android. This protocol exchanges XML messages over HTTP to synchronize contacts and appointments between the phone and the server. 3. From your problem description, a possible solution could be: * Use HttpURLConnection/HTTPClient for communication with the server. * If data is in XML use the SAX parsing to parse the data. * Display the data - e.g. in a ListView. Of course it will be helpful if you could share the screenshots and details of the data to be fetched from the server. Thanks.
