Description
We are looking for a graphic artist to recreate and clean up some existing web graphics for two web sites. In a nutshell:1. Both sites have a large map on the index page, one of Canada and the other of the USA
2. The Canadian map has three cities marked with red circles, the US has four. When the cities are 'moused-over' the text labels get larger, underline and the circles are highlighted. In addition a text call-out appears with a brief description of each city.
The rollover effect is accomplished by preloading images in the document header and then superimposing them over a standard html <IMG> tag. Scripts can be supplied if needed but are not necessary for the design element. The key element to note is that the images will be layered one over the other, so consistency of placement and dimensions are important.
For Canada there is one master image + 3 roll-over images (these three vary slightly from each other and the master)
For the US there is one master image + 4 roll-over images
Essentially you will be supplying two base images with a few edits containing different graphic and text elements. We will supply the graphics which are currently in place. This should make the design process easier.
3. The title (font and size) as well as description need to be polished.
4. The replacement images need to fit our existing colour scheme
5. Images should be no larger than 30K or 40K (approximately) each.
Our end objective is crisp, professional looking images which load quickly. These maps are the only graphic element on the page (with the exception of some general layout) and so should be of the best possible quality.
As part of the process we would like be supplied with drafts for review and the ability to request revisions before signing off on the end product.
