Description
To Illustrate a childrens book about a Minibus who meets the Chinese version of Little Red Riding Hood. The story follows the traditional version but takes place in the Stone Forest in China. The wolf is replaced by a Dragon. The hunter is a soldier from the PLA Army. Settings need to show the story takes place in China. The charcters need to be cartoon versions of people I will send photos of.The books are not sold commercially. They will be sponsored and given free to children in Hong Kong and China. .The book will be a simple story that children can read and understand. I will send the illustrator photographs to work from. The illustrator will need to be able to capture scenes from the stone forest which is a world heritage site.. Photos from internet can act as a guide.
The illustrator will need to be able to draw the Minibus in various locations. Many of the scenes can be found on the internet. However it is important that the book charcters are the same or very similar to previous books.
I am a teacher in a Chinese primary school and am not allowed to do any paid activities while under contact. I will approach publishers after my contract expires and any commercial selling of the book will include royalties for the illustrator. I have completed 28 books so far and have been happy with the work of the illustrators. I am not concerned about reputations or experience as I am quite happy to let people who want the experience do the books.
Please bid for the 12 illustrations. Not per illustration as this can cause misunderstandings. As I am funding the whole exercise from my own pocket I am looking to keep the cost between 30 and 100 dollars. Students welcome to bid as well as established illustrators. I will provide samples from previous books on any characters in the story.
It's best if you are able to provide samples of your styleespecially the minibus charcter and the driver.
