Description

I require 2 simple stick-figure animations:

ANIMATION #1: The main animation will be about 30 seconds long and will describe the process of manufacturing drywall board as per the narration below (note that 2.00 serves to introduce the animation and the animation starts at 2:01. HOWEVER the animation should begin by illustrating what was said in 2.00)

2.00 Drywall board is a panel that has a gypsum core. Gypsum is a unique rock that is mined from the ground. It is crushed and heated to remove moisture, thus reducing it to a fine powder.

ANIMATION BEGINS

Narrator:

2.01 By adding water and some additives, a slurry is created and sandwiched between two layers of paper at a specific thickness. When it dries, it results in panels that have a rock core and are ideal for providing a flat finish surface for walls and ceilings.
2.02 During the forming of the board, a bevel is created on each side along the length of the board.
2.03 This is an important feature of drywall board designed to facilitate the finishing process.

END OF ANIMATION

THE ANIMATION SHOULD ILLUSTRATE THE FOLLOWING: A stick man plant that crushes the stone and heats it up to produce a fine powder - it is then mixed with water to create a mud-like slurry, and poured out sandwiching it between two rolls of paper as it rolls out on to a long conveyor belt. A zoom in to show that it creates a board at a specified thickness (showing 1/2 an inch would be typical). Toward the the end of the line the board is dry enough for a giant rotating blade to cut it into lengths (8 feet for example) Then the sheets go through a dryer and come out at the end nice and dry. They are then piled and forklifted on to a flatbed truck and driven out of the plant to a house under construction, where two stick men take a sheet off the top and carry it into the house. The animation will end there and our video will cut to real footage of people hanging drywall board.

To give you an idea of some of this - see this link:

STICK TO MY DESCRIPTION ABOVE. THE LINK IS JUST TO GIVE YOU A FEW VISUALS TO SEE WHAT A SLURRY IS AND A FEW SHOTS OF THE BOARD-FORMING PROCESS. WE CANNOT USE THESE VISUALS IN OUR VIDEO AND PREFER TO SHOW IT IN SIMPLE ANIMATION.

ANIMATION #2: Two construction stick-men carry a sheet of drywall from off screen to the centre of the screen. They then screw it up (center screen) and walk off the screen. I want to use this for title cards as we transition from one section of the video to another.

READ CAREFULLY:

A- These animations need to be provided in Quicktime format. They are for an educational DVD, so the quality needs to be good. The animation needs to be simple and support the narration. Audio should be used where appropriate, but there should be NO TALKING and no writing since this video will be in three languages.
B- Bid only if you can submit samples of your work
C- Only bids where you begin with the words "Bubble me!" will be considered. All others will be ignored.
D- We need this done ASAP.
E- Please provide a timeline for getting this done.
F- This must be original work (no copying from previous or existing work) and we must retain all of the rights of these animations. They are not to be used by anyone else or altered to be used by anyone else. We need assurances of this in writing upon delivery of the finished product.
G- Please do a Google search on drywall / gypsum and do a bit of research on the whole process of manufacturing drywall board. This will only take you about 10 to 15 minutes and will ensure you know what exactly you are bidding on.

All the best!

Sean

Just a note: We are working on 16 by 9 on this DVD project - NOT 4 by 3. Thanks!
